The Perfect Choice

Janine from Thistle Ceremonies was just incredible. She really went above and beyond to ensure our wedding service was perfect. She invested a huge amount of time in us - meeting up via Zoom and in person to really get to know us on a personal level. This was so important to us, as we wanted a relaxed, chilled out, personal wedding.

Janine's professionalism and openness meant that we built a strong rapport with her early on, which allowed us to really open up and tell her our story. She was then able to weave it into a brilliant script, which was perfectly balanced in terms of humour, emotion and sincerity, whilst acknowledging our guests who were present (we had a very small wedding so she made sure to include everyone). We both definitely said that Janine was by far and away the best value out of everything we had paid for for our wedding!

She definitely goes above and beyond, spending a lot of time drafting, reviewing and editing the script, and she coached us through writing our own vows too (we wanted to keep them as a surprise for one another, so she took an oversight to ensure we were both writing in the same vein). She was the perfect choice for us - fun, kind, supportive, helpful and generous with her time and advice. I can't recommend her enough!

In terms of Thistle Ceremonies as a whole, we really love the charitable part of the business, where part of our fee goes towards a fund for those who cannot afford a celebrant for a funeral. This is such a beautiful mission and we were more than happy to be able to support it too.

When planning our wedding we knew we would like a humanist ceremony. We reached out to a few people, and Janine got back to us really quickly and we spoke over Zoom the next day.

We immediately got on really well and knew that we'd like Janine to conduct our ceremony. She spent lots of time getting to know us, and was therefore able to make the ceremony really personal to us. She understood exactly what we were looking for and delivered this perfectly. She kept in contact on the run up to the wedding, making sure we were on track with all the paperwork.

On the day she came to find both of us before the ceremony to make sure everything was ok and then conducted a beautiful ceremony, which many of our guests commented on how it was just so 'us'. Janine is such a lovely person, and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a humanist celebrant.

To say we were thankful to Janine would be a total understatement. We clicked and bonded with Janine instantly and this carried on throughout the planning process and during our big day.

There was so much time spent getting to know us and our story, every detail was put beautifully into a script that captured us perfectly. We had our wedding in Glencoe with a few family members and our German Shepherd dog, Janine felt like part of our family on our wedding day. Nothing was an issue (not even the crazy Scottish weather).

Janine was our celebrant. She was amazing from our first email right up until the wedding day! Any worries or changes of plans ( and there was many!) all I had to do was give her a wee email and she was so quick at replying and calming me down about everything. She was one of the very few things that DIDN'T stress me through planning our big day. I would recommend her to anyone!
